December 2018
In December 2018, we had the pleasure of hosting Uganda-based fashion designer Trinah Kakyo for a lecture and workshop. Kakyo is the visionary woman behind Kakyo Project, an accessories brand that promotes art, creativity and safe spaces for minorities and women in the African urban environment. Kakyo creatively uses gender-fluid bespoke apparel, statement jewelry, and bags to advocate for social change.
Kakyo's workshop was part of a collaborative residency program between ASG, Cocudi Center, and the Department of Jewelry and Fashion at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.
